  5. 1 tsp fenugreek seeds

  9. 1 +1/2 cup wheat flour
  10. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1/4 tsp haldi powder
  12. 1 tsp ajwain/ carom seeds
  13. 3 tbs oil
  14. Salt
  15. For Tadka
  16. 7-8 curry patta leaves
  17. 2 tsp mustard seeds
  18. 1/4 tsp hing
  19. 1 dry chilli
  20. 3 tbs oil
  21. 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  22. For ❤️Masala for dal
  23. 2 tbs ginger chilli paste
  24. 3-4 tbsp jaggery
  25. 2 lemon juice
  26. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  27. 1/4 tsp haldi powder
  28. 3-4 tbsp soaked peanut

Steps to make to make Dal dhokli - One Pot meal

  1. Wash toor dal 2-3 times. Add 2 cup water, tomato, fenugreek seeds and pressure cook until it becomes soften.
  2. Now blend it with hand blender. Add 2 glass water, ginger chilli paste, lemon juice and jaggery, red chilli powder, haldi powder. stir it. Let it cook for 2-3 mins. Add soaked peanuts.
  3. For making dhokli dough add all above listed dhokli ingredients and make a soft chapati dough. Soft dough will allow the dhokli to blend easily with daal when cooked
  4. Make 5-6 small balls from the dough and roll to make a thin chapati. Cut the chapati into small pieces of any desired shape.
  5. Chapati cut into pieces.
    Add the pieces in the cooked dal. Add 2 tbs of oil so dhokli pieces will not stick together. Add some more water if the dal is too thick. Cook for 10-12 minutes on medium heat until the dough is cooked properly. Stir intermittently.

    Note: from remaining dough you can make tikkhi bhakhri.
  6. Now take a small tadka pan. Pour the tempering over the dal and give it a gentle mix..
  7. The consistency of dal dhokli should be thick. Dhokli should be soft and cooked well. The taste of dhokli should blend with dal.In entire process cook dal on medium to low flame.

    Note: stir intermittently so that it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
  8. Taste of dal dhokli should be tengy, spicy and sweet. (khatta mittha and tikkha taste). Serve with peanut oil, methiyo masalo, plain rice.Garnish with coriander.serve hot.
